Sisteron: a collection that represents the colours and textures of wool from the flock of Merino sheep at Macomerinos in the south of France.
A cushion cover woven and made by hand on 19th century looms by expert craftsmen. Since it’s a completely manual process, every piece is unique and special, whether this be due to a backstitch or a special characteristic of the fabric.
The material is a 100% Merino wool, all from the same flock: Macomerinos. It combines different types of sheep’s wool, the majority being white but with some brown and grey too. Located in the south of France, the Macomerinos farm is a project that upholds the values of sustainability, traceability and proximity, and it works exclusively for Teixidors.
Synthetic dyes are not used as the base colour is that of the wool itself, a raw, grey colour that is the result of the mix of grey and brown wools. The splashes of colour in the middle are achieved using dyes made from madder root, birch leaves, carmine, Brazilwood, logwood, indigo and onion skins, among others, made in the Penedès region.
The pad is sold separately. You can find it here.
