COLLECTION:

The Fabrika’ 18/19 collection, the first from Perpetum Mobile, is an homage to the fabrics that we work with. Some years ago, mattresses made from both cotton and the more modest hessian cloth were topped with a cover that had to be aired and washed. The wealthiest families chose fabrics patterned with the jacquard technique and bright colours.

CREATION PROCESS:

Everything begins with the fabric, and the design flows and adapts itself to these old mattress fabrics, changing depending on the colour, pattern and quality. All Perpetum Mobile products are designed for the everyday, to be useful and practical. Production happens in Bilbao, at Kooperativa Peñascal, a textile cooperative that promotes labour insertion and trains and provides work for those who need a second chance.

FINISH:

It is lined with pink cotton fabric inside and closes with an old gold zip with a hoop. It has a red label sewn on the outside.

RAW MATERIALS:

50% cotton, 50% polyester.

This fabric was made using the jacquard technique, which means the reverse side is the negative of the exterior fabric, and you can see the threads that were used to make the decorative patterns. It’s like embroidery, but on an industrial scale and pretty on both sides!

The fabrics come from an old factory and were made many years ago. They are considered “old fabrics” but the quality of the thread has been maintained. In fact, they are fabrics that are no longer produced. The majority were made to cover mattresses or upholster furniture.

The fabric that makes up this bag is an old fabric that will never be made again. It’s imbued with history and authenticity. Perpetum Mobile carefully selects the best-preserved pieces, although it’s likely that every now and again, you’ll find a little old mark that reminds you of its authenticity. Or, it could be that some models still retain the smell of the inks, which can be easily eliminated by washing by hand.

This bag comes in a 100% cotton bag, perfect for being used time and time again.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Hand wash with cold water if needed.

Shipping to Spain and Portugal is included in the price and can take between 24 and 48 hours, except for the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, which have a cost of €10. Shipping to Europe take 4-5 days and costs €15.
